The Well Yoga Dubuque - Awakening the Heart with Brian Lottman

What if one evening could change everything?

You were made for more than going through the motions.

Many of us move through life feeling a quiet ache — disconnected from our emotions, uncertain of our purpose, longing for something we can't quite name. We stay busy. We stay safe. And somewhere along the way, we lose touch with the deepest part of ourselves.

This evening is an invitation to come home — through the ancient practices of meditation and sacred chant.

Meet Brian Lottman

Brian Lottman is a dynamic speaker, kirtan musician, and traveling monk whose teaching draws from many spiritual traditions — with deep roots in the Ancient Vedic wisdom of India. He plays the harmonium, a miniature organ, and leads simple, powerful mantra chanting for healing of the mind, body, and soul.

Brian teaches a special form of Healing Hatha Yoga, leads guided meditations energized with a deeply peaceful presence, and shares Energy Healing techniques for both the physical and subtle bodies. Knowledgeable across many religious and spiritual traditions, he meets each student exactly where they are.

Each workshop Brian leads is infused with a Presence that participants consistently describe as healing, nourishing, and profoundly transformative. Whether through stillness, sound, or movement, Brian creates the conditions for genuine awakening.

What You'll Experience

An evening designed to still the mind, open the heart, and awaken the soul.

Guided Meditation

Deep, guided meditation practices that quiet the mind and draw your awareness inward — into the vast stillness that lives at the center of your being.

Breathwork & Pranayama

Guided breathing practices that calm the nervous system, soften the body, and create space for deeper emotional awareness and presence.

Sacred Chant & Kirtan

Brian's signature kirtan music and mantra chanting carry you into states of openness and devotion that words alone cannot reach. Let your voice become a pathway home.

Stillness & Integration

A closing period of deep rest and integration, allowing the experience to settle fully into your body and heart — so you carry this peace with you long after you leave.

The most common remark was that they felt spiritually fed. I appreciate that he led us into profound silence. His presence in my house was a joy and a blessing. Your Questions, Answered

This is a 90-minute immersive experience centered on meditation, breathwork, and sacred chanting, with possible gentle movement woven in. You'll be guided through pranayama (breathing practices), deep meditation, and kirtan — the devotional practice of chanting mantras together. This is an inward journey, held in stillness and sound, designed to open the heart and reconnect you with your deepest self.
None at all. Brian's approach is warm, accessible, and welcoming to complete beginners. You don't need to know any mantras in advance — you'll be guided through everything. If you can breathe and be present, you belong here.
It's completely natural to feel a range of emotions during heart-centered practice — that's part of the beauty of it. Brian creates a warm, safe, and non-judgmental container. There's no pressure to feel or express anything in particular. You're always in charge of your own experience, and you're free to simply rest if you need to.
Just yourself and comfortable clothes you can move and breathe in. We'll provide mats, cushions, bolsters, and blankets so you can be fully at ease. You may want to bring a water bottle and a journal if you'd like to write after the experience.
We intentionally keep this gathering small to preserve the intimacy and depth of the experience. A smaller group allows Brian to be fully present with each person and creates the conditions for genuine connection and transformation. Once spots are filled, we won't be adding more.
We understand that Wednesday evenings can be busy. If this particular date doesn't work for you, we encourage you to sign up for our newsletter or follow us on social media — Brian teaches at The Well regularly, and this won't be the last time he offers heart-centered practice here.
